Kat Von D. Shade & Light Contour Palette

I love to contour. It totally changes the shape of my face! And I'm aware that the whole contour and highlight thing is traditionally a drag technique. But seriously you just be living under a rock if you've not heard of it.

But for today's post I'm going to hand you over to Elinor..

I've read about contouring in a couple of magazines and we all see celebrities like Kim kardashian using contouring on a daily basis to enhance facial features.

On a recent holiday to America I decided to purchase a product to try contouring myself. There was so much choice and different shades that I didn't really know where to start. One of the shop assistants in sephora approached me and I told him what I was looking for.

He pointed me in the direction of this product. Kat Von D is a tattoo artist and works on Miami ink. I immediately liked the look of the product (the packaging is very glossy) and after being told there were 3 shades so I could go darker or lighter depending on the occasion, I'd made the decision to purchase.

I explained I'd never tried contouring before and the make up artist suggested he show me how to use the palette on my face so I'd get the most out of the product. He showed me which parts of my face to shade in the darker powder and which parts to highlight.

I learned quickly that it was all about following the lines on your face and using the product did completely change my face. I have always been a bit paranoid that the bridge of my nose is too wide but this made it seem thinner. It also gave me prominent cheek bones which I loved.

I was delighted with it. The price was very reasonable at $46 (about £28) and I liked the fact it also came with a leaflet to help use it.

I'm now addicted and use my palette to contour every day!
